Industry NewsBrandPost: Combatting cluster sprawl with the open-source Omnia platform - EverOrange Partners

October 5, 2021

Years ago, people in IT shops talked a lot about server sprawl stemming from the continual deployment of servers dedicated to single applications. While in many cases these servers were woefully under-utilized, IT teams couldn’t easily share the resources with other applications that were hungry for more processing power. And then came server virtualization, which made it easy to share server capacity among multiple applications, and that helped solve the problem of server sprawl.Today, organizations are wrestling with a similar problem but on a larger scale. That problem is cluster sprawl, which stems from the deployment of high performance computing systems dedicated to particular compute-intensive applications used in different areas, such as those for data analytics, machine learning and engineering simulations. Many organizations now find themselves with many islands of HPC that are under-utilized and difficult to manage in a unified manner. To read this article in full, please click her

The 8-Bit Orange in the Maelstrom

Our 8-Bit Orange is an homage to the era when our company’s founders first fell in love with technology, which at the time meant Atari, ColecoVision, Mario & Zelda, the Apple II, and the Oregon Trail. It is a reminder of the alpha, the first star in our technological constellation and the legacy from which we come.

Technology advisory and management as a vocation is a constantly evolving game that, like those early days, can be played but never mastered. Thinking back to those 8-bit origins, we maintain that sense of play in our work, despite constant challenges and the massive scale of solving problems for corporations.

Additionally, most depictions of the electromagnetic and gravitational pull of supermassive black holes are orange. Our 8-Bit Orange lives in the maelstrom of a constantly shifting marketplace. Curbing the confused movement and turmoil of that change is our mission. We aim to create enough gravity to pull in the best minds in historically disparate businesses, to benefit our clients, partners, contractors, employees, and stakeholders
